Economists.co.za (Economists dot coza is how we prefer to be pronounced) is one of the most active independent economic research houses in South Africa. Founded in 2005 by Mike Schüssler, we have gained an enviable reputation as both forecasters (Mike has been South African economist of the year twice since 2005 and came fourth in 2010 in the Reuters economic competition) and as innovators (Economists.co.za developed the monthly provincial barometers for five of South Africa's nine provinces). Moreover we have gained an great reputation for original and insightful research.

Our main business is building meaningful economic indicators that give insight into geographic or sectorial areas in the economy. We collect data and provide customers with detailed economic statistics that others cannot provide. While some do cover geographic areas from the top down by splitting national data we provide the data mainly from a bottom up approach.

We also provide regular pieces of written economic research which are sold in packages for an annual subscription. In addition we are available for telephone queries and discussion and we give presentations. Presentations can be at clients' offices to management groups or at larger venues to hundreds of clients and invited guests. We also undertake bespoke research projects commissioned by companies, government agencies, and trade associations.
